After the first day I really felt I wanted to go back and see how Taco was doing. The next morning we decided to go back and discuss further with the dog rescue center and to see Taco again. As we didn´t know anything about him we naturally wanted to get to know him and his personality. We arranged with the dog rescue center to meet up and get a chance to hang out with him. Luckily that was an easy fix. They had already transferred him to a foster family, this little puppy already had a new temporary place and someone to look after him, Mr Eric.
We met up with Eric in the afternoon and it was a relief to see that Taco felt a lot better after the surgery. He was up walking and sniffing around. We were free to take him out, so there we are, picking him up and hanging out with him for an hour. We thought.
This little cutie <3
My first day with Taco, just hanging out and getting to know each other.
We took him down to the beach. It seemed that the beach was new to him, he kept away from the water and didn´t want to go near the shore. He was sniffing around and playing in the sand and stayed very close to us the whole time.
Here we are, having the nicest lunch at a Barracuda, some good old Mexican ceviche and spicy aquachile. I must say that Sayulita is one of the most dog friendly places I´ve been to, all dogs are welcome and are just part of the scene. And Taco is getting comfortable chilling... :) During lunch we realised that one hour was up. That went fast. Way too fast. I felt that it was too early to return Taco back to the apartment. Checking with Eric and the dog rescue center if we could keep him a few more hours they told us "keep him as long as you want". :)
We did not know at the time that we stayed in a dog friendly hotel, but as we got back to the hotel we asked and Taco was more than welcome to hang out with us there. Aurinko Bungalows, one more dog friendly place. Figuring out what to do next, the thought of just bringing him back felt totally bizarre. I could not just drop this little sweetheart off and continue as nothing had happened. So what happened? We agreed on that one night is not so bad, is it? We would sleep over night and check the next morning to how to go forward. So - he stayed over night.
GOOD NIGHT TACO!!
